Enrichment Opportunities

Unlock Your Potential Beyond the Classroom

Our enrichment programmes extend beyond the classroom, helping you develop a wide range of transferable skills. From leadership and teamwork to creativity and critical thinking, our diverse activities are designed to inspire and prepare you for success in both your future studies and careers.

Student Leadership

Our Sixth Form Student Leadership Team at The Castle Rock Sixth Form is led by two elected Head Students, supported by a group of Sixth Form Leadership Representatives. Together, they represent student voice and lead initiatives that benefit the whole school community. This team also coordinates the wider Student Leadership structure, which includes representatives from every year group across the school. Through regular meetings and collaborative projects, they help shape a positive school culture and drive meaningful change. This leadership opportunity is open to all Sixth Form students, offering a platform for personal development, responsibility, and active engagement in school life.

Work Experience

All Year 12 students engage in a week of work experience in the summer term. Students select their own placements with the support of the Sixth Form team. Purpose is for students to have a meaningful workplace experience ahead of their decision making for their Post 18 education or careers. 100% of students undertake work experience each year.

Clubs and Societies

Our exciting range of extra-curricular activities changes based on student interest. Our student-led societies reflect the diverse passions of our community, giving you the opportunity to lead and engage in a variety of subjects. Recent societies include:

  • Medical Society

  • Once Upon a Yarn (Crochet Society)
  • Social Sport Society

  • Year 7 Reading Mentors

  • Academic Mentors

My Super Curricular

(MSC) - weekly programme of Super Curricular learning utilising a variety of quality academic resources that allow students to extend their knowledge outside of the classroom and nurture intellectual curiosity. The programme supports student progress and academic outcomes as well as strengthening university and apprenticeship applications. Universities now see super curricular as a compulsory element of the admissions process and develops students topical conversation in interviews.

Medical Society

Our Medical Society offers aspiring healthcare professionals a unique opportunity to explore the world of medicine beyond the classroom. Students take part in enriching activities such as talks from visiting professionals across the healthcare industry, gaining insights into real-world medical careers and current practices. The society also provides hands-on experiences and practical sessions that complement and extend the curriculum. For those preparing for university applications, tailored support is available for entrance exams like the UCAT, helping students feel confident and well-prepared. This is an ideal space for curious minds to connect, learn, and grow on their journey into medicine and healthcare.
