2025 Sixth Form Success

We are incredibly proud of our amazing Year 13 students who have achieved a stunning collection of A-level and Level Three results this year, with every student getting into their first-choice university.

For the fourth consecutive year, academic outcomes have further improved, with 81% of Level 3 grades awarded at A*– C in 2025.

Notably, 19.3% of all A-level grades were at A* or A — a 15.6% increase on last year. The number of A*–B A-level grades has also doubled since 2024 at 38.6%, reflecting our commitment to equipping every student with the knowledge and skills to thrive in their post-18 journey.

We’re also proud to report a 100% pass rate across all Level 3 courses, with the average A-level grade rising from a C– to a C+ in just one year.

Many students are now preparing to take up places at universities, including the prestigious Russell Group. Among them is Amy, who achieved two A*s and an A and will be heading to Durham University to study Physics.

Jemima is looking forward to starting a new chapter at the University of Birmingham, where she will study Chemistry after securing three As in Biology, Chemistry and English Literature. Continuing the science theme, Rose is off to the University of Leeds to study Biomedical Sciences, having achieved one A and two Bs.

Reflecting on these results, the Sixth Form team said:

We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our students.

Not only have they gained excellent results, but they have demonstrated ambition, dedication and resilience throughout their time with us. Having a smaller cohort than other colleges has meant that we have been able to provide bespoke pastoral care and academic challenge for every student.

We have students going to university, apprenticeships and into formal employment. We wish them the best of luck in their next steps and look forward to working with them through our alumni network and supporting future students as they leave their legacy at The Castle Rock School.

Roma Dhameja, Associate Principal, added:

We are very pleased not only with the results but also that 63% of our students are set to attend university in September which is an increase from 50% last year and particularly significant with less students applying and attending university nationally.

We wish them the best of luck as they progress into their careers.
